Our Bristol B&B: Trym House

I spent some time browsing around and looking for where we might stay in Bristol and eventually settled on (historic) Trym House. It came up on a Google accommodation search where Helena had suggested in a Bristol location called Westbury-on-Trym. It was booked through Airbnb. Like many areas of modern cities, it was once a village. It is now simply another suburb, though with many proud elements of its heritage on display and celebrated. To give a sense of the quiry nature of Trym House, the owners had sent us some directions (essential too!) for our arrival on Friday ... we were warned that while the address is No.8, the driveway is after No.20; so it goes No.20; No.8! A good tip ...

The sequence below is offered to provide a sense of what it was like for us as we drove in and up the driveway out of chaotic Friday afternoon traffic congestion in the streets outside. Quite the respite!

Our room at the top of the House has a dual aspect across the tree tops viewing the surrounding hilly suburbs; just beautiful to wake up and look at the sky at treetop level! The left one is to the west and right one is to the south.

 

There are two suntraps in the garden near the House (many more throughout the garden). Here is the view of two of them from inside ... the left one the morning sun; the right one for the afternoon sun (though you can see a blue-clad Deb reclining against the hedge!).

 

And a final one that captures the essence of the peacefulness of the location ... A close up of Deb in the same location as above right BUT from a different angle showing what a wonderful heart she has :) ... she was very relaxed and the framing was an unintended outcome!

We are enjoying our stay here very much - charming hosts as well!
